Law firms
Law firm payment processing, on your firm’s domain.
Let clients pay invoices, retainers and fees online on a page that carries your firm’s name. We build the payment page or client portal, connect your processor and keep it running.

How law firms accept payments online
-
Invoice payments
Clients pay an invoice online from a link, any time.
-
Client payment portal
A branded portal on your firm’s subdomain.
-
Paid sign-ups
Charge setup or access fees when a client enrolls in a service, like a document portal.
-
Separate payment pages
Separate forms for different purposes, such as earned fees and retainers.
Trust and operating accounts
Credit card processing for lawyers, with trust accounts in mind
Many firms need some payments to go to an operating account and others, like unearned retainers, to a trust (IOLTA) account. We can build separate payment pages for each and work with your processor on how they are set up.
Your bar’s rules and your processor’s requirements decide the details, so we confirm the setup with you before anything goes live.

Can clients pay by ACH?
Yes. Clients can pay invoices and retainers by bank transfer (ACH) or by card.
Can clients pay legal invoices online?
Yes. We build a payment page or client portal on your firm’s subdomain where clients pay invoices by card.
Can payments go to a trust account?
We can set up separate payment pages so retainers and earned fees are processed separately. How funds are routed is set up with your processor and must follow your bar’s rules, which we confirm with you first.
Can we charge a fee when a client signs up for a service?
Yes. For Wesp Barwell Berardino we built a sign-up page that collects the portal access and setup fee by card at enrollment.
What does it cost?
A standard online bill pay portal is $3,750 one time or $450 a month for 12 months. Custom sign-up and checkout flows are quoted to scope.
